One of the growing trends in the food industry that we have been noticing since we began posting for Indianapolis on the Cheap a year ago is the presence of food trucks like Wild Boar BBQ. For a group of owners that wants the emphasis to be on the food without the responsibilities associated with a set building location, a food truck can be an excellent idea. Plus, the ability to move your location around town breaks the monotony in your routine.
Wild Boar BBQ is one such food truck, and you can probably guess what’s on the menu based on the name of the business. Wild Boar specializes in smoked BBQ and awesome sauces, meaning they definitely appeal to a big group of our Cheapsters. The main reason we’re posting about Wild Boar today, however, is that you have an opportunity to support good work in Uganda.
Admittedly, we aren’t positive of the details behind this fundraiser. We would welcome input from anyone familiar with or working for Wild Boar BBQ. According to their Facebook page, however, a portion of the proceeds from lunch sales today on Monday, August 12 will benefit Wild Boar’s “friend, Heather” who is doing work over in Uganda. For today, Wild Boar BBQ is located at 4701 Keystone Avenue in the Regions Bank parking lot. While our details about the fundraiser aren’t particularly in-depth, we doubt we need to give you a huge excuse to eat fresh BBQ.
