It’s easy to remain ignorant of when fish are in season when you live here in landlocked Indianapolis. If you aren’t an expert on such matters, you probably wouldn’t be aware that halibut season that began in Alaska (we certainly didn’t know until we began writing this post). And yet, Whole Foods Market recognized it, as they are shipping in the finest and freshest halibut steaks straight from an MSC-certified fishery (Marine Stewardship Council, in case you were wondering) along the Pacific Ocean.
What that means for us here in Indianapolis is that we can visit our local Whole Foods Markets and purchase these fresh halibut steaks at a great sale price. Just for today, Friday, April 12, you can purchase this fresh halibut for just $12.88 per pound. Most restaurants around here can’t serve you halibut that fresh, and the ones that can will be charging far more for it than this great price.
Now, just so nothing fishy comes up (ha, admit that you laughed at this terrible pun), we want to throw in the disclaimer that seafood isn’t always the easiest thing to ship. Availability and limits may vary by region, so we advise you to call ahead to your closest Whole Foods Market and make sure they have the fresh halibut steaks in-stock and on schedule so that you don’t walk away disappointed. - 14598 Clay Terrace Blvd. in Carmel (Phone Number is 317-569-1517)
