Waiting until lunch time to break your fast is a bad idea for two main reasons. First of all, nutrition experts agree that eating breakfast is vastly more healthy for you. You jumpstart your metabolism earlier in the day, you make it easier to avoid overeating later in the day, and statistics point to eating breakfast being better for your cardiovascular health. Second, who wants to skip breakfast when the thematic foods are so delicious? Whether you’re a fan of cereal, pancakes, or bacon and eggs, breakfast offers one of the best menus of the day.
We know of three breakfast-oriented restaurants with different promotions right now. Here’s the roundup:
Kountry Kitchen Soul Food Place: This one is a money-saver, but it’s only available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday through Friday. If you purchase one breakfast entree at Kountry Kitchen, you’ll get the second (of equal or lesser value) for half off. The drink isn’t included, but that’s still a good way to start the day on the cheap. Kountry Kitchen is located at 1831 North College Avenue in Indianapolis.
Charlie Brown’s Pancake and Steak House: Charlie Brown is located at 1038 Main Street in Speedway. You have access to a one-time deal, courtesy of their Facebook page. If you ‘like’ the Charlie Brown Facebook page, you can come in for a visit and tell them why you ‘liked’ them on Facebook. If you do this, you will receive a 10% discount on that visit. It’s a one-time deal when you decide to use it, so plan accordingly.
Denny’s: Finally, this one isn’t so much about saving yourself money as it’s about helping others in need. Yesterday, we published a post about the No Kid Hungry campaign. Denny’s somehow slipped past our radar, but this national breakfast chain has its own connection to the campaign. For each Build-it-Yourself omelette purchase between now and Sunday, September 15, Denny’s will donate one egg for charity. We expect this to be a more symbolic gesture than Denny’s representatives literally going out into the street and chucking eggs at hungry kids. Either way, you get a tasty omelette while fighting childhood hunger.
