Sequel idea: Bring in the characters from Frozen and have them sing the “Let it Go” follow-up song, “LEGO.”
To all the people out there talking about how there are no good movies in the theaters right now, we suggest you consult with your kids on that opinion. Sure, they’ve all seen Disney’s Frozen at least once or twice by now, but most of them probably have not seen the LEGO Movie yet. We aren’t toying with you – the LEGO Movie premiered in theaters on Friday, February 7. It is a movie geared towards kids aged 3-97 who either still enjoy playing with LEGOs or at least remember the days when they did.
So, what are the building blocks for this plot (sorry, we couldn’t resist)? An ordinary LEGO mini figure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited by other LEGOs to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the universe together. The movie features a host of characters including Batman, Dumbledore, Gandalf, Shaq, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Johnny Thunder, and many others (all in LEGO form, of course). The voices behind these characters include Will Arnett, Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill, Elizabeth Banks, Alison Brie, Anthony Daniels, and more.
Where’s the deal in all this? If you are a Regal Crown Club member, you’ll receive more than just your movie admission if you purchase tickets to see the LEGO Movie. You’ll also receive a FREE exclusive mini-figurine with your order. Not only will your kid wear a smile throughout the movie, he or she will have one after going home because of the new toy to play LEGOs with.
