For us humans, the age of the internet, smart phones, and GPS tracking can be a little scary. Information is much easier to find these days, and the fear of Big Brother can make many of us a bit uptight. Of course, while we worry about surveillance and privacy, our pets don’t really mind. We highly doubt that your German Shepherd really minds if you keep tabs on his location. As long as you keep petting him, feeding him, and playing with him, he’s fine with the whole idea. With that in mind, there’s no reason not to take advantage of microchipping when it’s offered for FREE.
The Humane Society for Hamilton County is offering just that this weekend at the Ameriana Bank located at 3975 West 106th Street in Carmel. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, you can bring your pet for FREE microchipping that will help ensure a safe return if your best buddy goes missing. Just make sure you arrive on the early end of that schedule, as the freebie only applies to the first 100 pets. After that, microchipping will cost $20 per pet.
If you don’t own a pet, the Humane Society will have pets available for adoption at this microchipping event too. You can also enjoy giveaways and vendors that offer a variety of pet goodies during your visit.
