To all our Cheapster ladies out there—are you still trying to find that perfect balance in an exercise regimen? It can be tricky to find an activity that is hard enough to give you a thorough workout while still being fun enough that you don’t dread doing it. And if you are someone who doesn’t particularly enjoy spending time at the gym, that search for the right activity for you can seem even tougher. Perhaps the answer for you lies in roller skating.
One of those activities that never seems to go out of style, most people have gone roller skating at least once in their lives. And starting next month, you can join a 10-week roller skating exercise course at the Forum in Fishers (located at 9022 E. 126th Street). This roller skating workout for women is called Derby Lite, and you don’t need any experience in roller skating to join the edgy new workout.
You’ll get the exercise you’re looking for, as you burn as many at 700 calories per hour roller skating. But with it being a fun activity, you can also plan on enjoying yourself and making some new friends along the way. The cost of the Beginner ten-week session meeting once a week from April 17 to June 19 costs $135. Break that down by week, and it’s only $13.50 for two hours of fun exercise. And don’t worry if you don’t own a pair of roller skates, as you can choose to rent the correct type of skates there for $65 over the session or just buy them outright for $179.
For more details, we encourage you to search through the Derby Lite website (linked above). Registration is open until Monday, April 8, so give it some thought and decide if you think this sounds like a fun alternative to generic exercise.
