November is full of fun things to look forward to. Between Thanksgiving, cool sweatshirt weather, and football games, the eleventh month has plenty to offer. But one element many people don’t look forward to (us included) is winter cleaning. Part of preparing your home for winter means moving certain things to storage, which can be a challenge if you have too much clutter sitting around. Luckily, the town of Fishers is making this process easier by offering a way to easily unload some of that unwanted clutter – a FREE recycling event.
You can bring a host of items to the Holland Park parking lot from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2 for the Fishers recycling event. Recycling means everybody wins. You can ditch some of the stuff holding your winter cleaning process back so that your adjustments will be less painful. Meanwhile, many other Cheapsters around town could benefit from the items you’re recycling, and it’s much better for the environment than just tossing the unwanted items in the trash.
While the recycling event is FREE, there are some rules to keep in mind. First of all, there will be a $5 fee for the drop off of TVs, computer monitors, and mattresses. Fishers is also placing limits on the amount of flammable liquids and pesticides. Click here for the full set of rules and procedures, but the following is a portion of the list of acceptable items:
- electronics
- appliances
- power tools
- workout equipment
- plastics (bottles only)
- cardboard
- keyboards
- speakers
- batteries
- cell phones
- lawn mowers
