We at Indianapolis On The Cheap do not try to play favorites among our local schools and universities. We want to report as many cool stories from Purdue University, Butler University, Ball State University, etc. as we do from Indiana University. With March Madness upon us, however, Indiana University has its eyes on a top seed in the tournament. That tends to mean more stories available, and we had to share this one with you to let you know of an opportunity to win a prize pack.
For all you Cheapsters who profess to be fans of Indiana University, we pose a simple challenge: Are you aware of the proper fists-to-blades technique? True Indiana University Hoosier fans know how to finish the IU fight song by literally spelling out I-U with their arms. For the “I,” you begin with your hands in fists. When moving to the “U,” extend your fingers to form blades. Knowing the lyrics to the fight song is an admirable start, but the final technique is important too.
It’s important enough to the IU Alumni Association that they are offering an IU prize pack (including striped socks) to the one who shows them the best fists-to-blades form between now and Sunday, March 10. To enter, send a picture or video demonstrating your correct form to iuaanews@indiana.edu. Alternatively, you can tweet @IUAA to enter. Good luck to you as well as all our state schools as basketball season heads for the finish.
