Disney experts might descend on us for the title of this post, screaming that Pinocchio was one of the original Disney animated movies and that the little puppet/boy should be turning something like 73 this year. Beyond that, the Italian writer who originally created the fictional character Pinocchio (Carlo Collodi, if Wikipedia is to be believed), would say he’s even older than that.
Before we ignite a war on the age of a fictional puppet, let us clarify that we’re referring to Pinocchio‘s Original Italian Ice Cream. Originally started in Sanibel Island down in Florida, our Cheapsters on the south side may recognize Pinocchio’s from its one-year location in Greenwood (1011 Route 135, to be exact). Pinocchio’s is known for diverse flavors of ice cream, sherbet, sorbet, and gelato, as well as for extremely generous portions. Many a child has failed to finish a small-sized cone and had to remember to opt for the kiddy-size next time.
From 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream is celebrating its First Birthday Bash and wants to thank all of you who have kept them busy this past year. They will be including event festivities like the following:
- Special Ice Cream Treats
- Glitter Art Tattoos
- Special Balloon Event
- Hourly Discounts
- A chance to win a 43-inch TV
If you haven’t visited Pinocchio’s yet, this is the perfect opportunity to give the ice cream a try. You’re literally in for a real treat.
