If you are a fan of artwork who enjoys viewing different expressions around the city, you may have heard of the Speedway Centre for the Arts. You may even know about the open house they have planned for next week. Located at the corner of West 16th and Main Street, the Speedway Centre for the Arts seeks to enrich the cultural lives of the residents of Speedway and encourage a focused vision of the arts throughout the community.
With that said, of course, you don’t have to be a citizen of Speedway yourself to enjoy the art they display. They display pieces of 2D and 3D artwork, much of which is available for sale. They also offer classes in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, acting, and more. What we want to report today, however, is that they are hosting an open house from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27. The open house is entitled “Eye Candy,” and will feature family-friendly artwork of both the 2D and 3D variety. You can come see the artwork after the open house ends, but this FREE open house kicks off the display.
All artwork will be displayed with price tags should you find any you wish to purchase. But it’s OK just to look.
