You know the song about Yankee Doodle, specifically the line about being “born on the 4th of July”? Oaken Barrel could’ve said the same thing twenty years ago. Now, the southside brewing company and restaurant is about to serve its annual Pork of July buffet for its 20th anniversary. This is a special occasion in which you’ll have the opportunity to chat with brewers who have had an impact on forging Oaken Barrel’s legacy. Having a 20th anniversary party means bringing back many of the big names from the past, after all.
Regardless of whether that interests you, however, we imagine most of our Cheapsters are interested in the Pork of July buffet for its price. Just $10 is all it costs per person to enjoy this decadent hog roast version of a buffet. Oaken Barrel will also have a live band, a DJ, and a tent party during the buffet. Not only that, but everyone who purchases the buffet will receive commemorative pint glasses. The Pork of July lasts from noon to 6:00 p.m. on July 4.
