If you aren’t familiar with the name Brandon Vinson, allow us to fill you in a bit on his backstory. Brandon was born in 2004, and diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis soon after. Without a lung transplant, the disease will continue affecting his lungs and digestive tract to the point where he must undergo multiple treatments each day. He has been bouncing in and out of the hospital most of his life.
Interestingly, Brandon hails from a large family of firefighters. He was sworn in as an honorary firefighter earlier this year, and he will have the backing of the Indianapolis Fire Department on New Year’s Day as a car cruising event is held to help him. Indy Carmada will be holding the car cruising event as police escort vehicles on one lap around Interstate 465.
For those of you interested in participating and showing your support, the car cruising event begins at 11:30 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the TGI Fridays on West 38th Street. Don’t worry about what model car you have, as all are welcome to join. All the collected donations from the day will be given to support Brandon and his family as they continue to struggle with this disease. For more information, click the link above for Indy Carmada.
