Just because Memorial Day has come and gone doesn’t mean that we stop caring about and appreciating our men and women serving in the military. As they fight here and abroad to protect this country, it only seems right that they can enjoy its most beautiful sights without having to pay more than they already have. Our national parks system agrees with us on this point, and hence we have a freebie to tell you about.
Active-duty military personnel and their dependents are all eligible for an America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreation Lands Annual Pass for FREE. Considering your average citizen has to pay $80 for these passes, this is a great value to take advantage of if you belong to the military. The pass grants access to more than 2,000 national parks, wildlife refuges, and other public lands.
Here in Indiana, we have three national parks to choose from. You can visit Indiana Dunes, the George Rogers Clark Memorial, and the Lincoln Boyhood Memorial. So, if you are active military (unfortunately, veterans don’t qualify for this particular freebie at this time), sign up for your annual pass for FREE and experience the most beautiful parts of the country that stands strong because of you.
