If you sat in traffic today lamenting that your trip to work Downtown was slow, dull, and boring, this Friday might be a great time to mix it up and change the usual routine. This Friday May 17 is National Bike to Work Day, and IndyCog is organizing a fun event in recognition of the unconventional holiday. This year, they expect over 1,500 cyclists to participate in National Bike to Work Day, and offering a few freebies and cool perks to those who ride with them.

In addition to getting some great exercise and traveling to work in an exciting new way, you can benefit from FREE meals along the way. Here’s the full timeline for National Bike to Work Day here in Indianapolis:
6:30 a.m.: Bike groups will depart from various starting locations across the region
7:00 a.m.: The Big Hub Plaza on Market Street will open to commuters. Whole Foods will offer FREE breakfasts and Hubbard & Cravens will serve coffee.
7:55 a.m.: Indianapolis Mayor Ballard and other local VIPs will give presentations.
Noon: FREE Bike Commuter lunch at the Indy Bike Hub YMCA (located at 242 East Market Street)
3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Happy Hour fundraiser for IndyCog sponsored by Sun King
4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.: Waves of bike trains will depart for home from the front of the Indy Bike Hub YMCA.
