Marie Antoinette is often given false credit for the quote, “let them eat cake.” She may never have said that particular line, but it sounds like it would be up the Cake Boss’s alley. Buddy Valastro gained the nickname Cake Boss from the title of the TLC show named for him and his business. Carlo’s Bakery has gained national attention, and we’re sure many of our Cheapsters have watched the Cake Boss in action a time or two.
Whether you are a fan of the show or this is the first time you’ve heard of it, however, we think you’ll be interested to hear about Buddy Valastro paying our city a visit. The Cake Boss is thanking fans for the successful launch of a line of Cake Boss Cakes at Kroger and other stores by going on a national campaign and giving away FREE cakes.
Indianapolis has its turn next week. The Cake Boss will be giving away 10,000 cakes on Monument Circle, starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30. It’s first come, first serve, so make sure you wake up early and head to Monument Circle to take home a cake. Buddy Valastro will also be hanging out afterward for pictures with fans starting at 10:30 a.m.
