Say, do you hear the distant drums?
Music for All is one of the largest and most influential national music education organizations out there. It has been creating, providing, and expanding positive life experiences with music since 1976 when it began as a single summer workshop for teachers. Now, Music for All is partnering with the Bongo Boy Music School to launch a monthly community drum circle initiative right here in Indianapolis.
There are two sides to this drum circle initiative that are noteworthy. First, for the music professionals – this is an opportunity for you to network. The program will allow professionals of all ages to improve their connection to the artistic community and network with one another. At the same time, you will have the opportunity to actively participate in the music making during a lunch hour.
The other side of this is for the general public that enjoys music like a drum circle can provide but are not professionals themselves. The benefit of this to you is fairly obvious – you can enjoy a FREE music show one day a month. Just head downtown to Union Station during your lunch hour and you can hear the drum circle for yourself and enjoy the talent our city can provide.
The first drum circle is set for Wednesday, January 16 from noon to 1:00 p.m. If you cannot make it to that one, don’t worry about missing out. You can always plan ahead to make it to the second one next month. That date is already set for Wednesday February 20 (same time). If you love hearing music, this is an opportunity for you to enjoy it for FREE.
