Have you noticed more than average facial hair on many of the gentleman you’ve seen this month? Before you conclude that facial hair is now a fashion super-fad, keep in mind that this month is Movember. Every November, Movember encourages men everywhere to sprout mustaches. The reason is raise funds and awareness for men’s health. While everyone is constantly raising money and awareness of breast cancer (and for very good reason), issues like prostate cancer need to be addressed as well.
Men start Movember on November 1 with a clean-shaven face, grooming and growing a mustache the rest of the month. Whether you have been a part of this hairy operation throughout the month or not, you can still help by attending the End of Movember Gala at 6:30 p.m. on Friday November 30. The event takes place at the Indianapolis City Market Downtown.
Tickets cost just $10, and all of the revenue raised will go to the Movember Charity dedicated to raising awareness and funds for men’s health. You can purchase tickets ahead of time with cash or credit card by following our above links for more details. You can also purchase tickets at the door, but these will be cash-only. The Gala will feature craft beer from Indiana brewers and beyond. You can also enjoy delicious food from the City Market vendors.
So come out this Friday and support the hairier sex as Movember comes to a close for 2012.
