Is it truly the middle of August already? Where has this summer gone? It seems like a common refrain each summer, but the hot months tend to fill up quickly. Suddenly the kids are back to school and we’re all marching toward autumn. Before we shut down summer, however, you can still enjoy more FREE concerts around town during these long evenings.
We ran separate posts earlier this summer about FREE concerts on the north and south sides. For the sake of convenience, we’re going to condense the remaining list into this one post. Here’s the rundowns:
Wednesday, August 14 (6:30 p.m.): In Concert with Nature features Harmony Experiment. These concerts are FREE with park admission and take place in Eagle Creek Park (5901 Delong Road in Indianapolis).
Thursday ,August 15 (7:00 p.m.): The Indy Pops perform with the Pride of Indy. These Indy Pops concerts take place at the Garfield Park MacAllister Center located at 2432 Conservatory Drive in Indy.
Friday ,August 16 (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.): Ron Espiritu is performing at the Fridays After Dark Music Series at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. These concerts tend to be acoustical, with a variety of food trucks on site to provide dinner options. Nickel Plate District Amphitheater is located at 6 Municipal Drive in Fishers.
Wednesday, August 21 (6:30 p.m.): Jazz on the Point features the Kevin Anker Project. Jazz on the Point works the same way as In Concert with Nature in that it takes place at Eagle Creek Park and is FREE with park admission.
Thursday, August 22 (7:00 p.m.): the Indy Pops perform with the Indianapolis Brass Choir.
Friday, August 23 (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.): Branch Gordon is performing at Fridays After Dark in Fishers.
Sunday, August 25 (5:00 p.m.): Jazz in the Park features Finnell Factor. These concerts take place in Watkins Park, which is located at 2360 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in Indy.
Wednesday, August 28 (6:30 p.m.): In Concert with Nature features Blackberry Jam.
Friday, August 30 (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.): Ryan M. Brewer is performing at Fridays After Dark in Fishers.
Friday, September 6 (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.): New Augusta Acoustic Duo is performing at Fridays After Dark in Fishers.
Friday, September 13 (8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.): Kate Myers is performing at Fridays After Dark in Fishers.
Sunday, September 29 (4:00 p.m.): Jazz in the Park features Clifford Ratliff & the Indy Jazz Company.
