If you have already heard of Blue Star Museums, you can skip this introductory paragraph and move straight to what’s happening starting with Memorial Day this year. For everyone else, Blue Star Museums represents a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2000 museums across the United States of America. The initiative was first launched in 2010, and now continues today to give all active duty military personnel and their families access to museums around the country at no cost.
Here’s what that means for you if you or someone in your family is an active-duty military member. From Memorial Day (Monday, May 27) through Labor Day (Monday, September 2) you and the rest of the family can enjoy FREE admission to all participating museums. Before Memorial Day arrives, take some time to look over the following list of participating museums, and enjoy the freebie:
