Flash back several weeks, and you may remember us running a post about Lemonade Day for kids. It was a unique program that taught kids how to start, own, and operate their own businesses in the form of lemonade stands. By preparing for Lemonade Day, kids gained experience in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, philanthropy, and other important business lessons. In an age where kids are not starting up their own businesses (like lawn mowing and the like), the Lemonade Day program is a fun way for them to learn these sorts of things.
Anyway, flash forward to now and Lemonade Day is just about here. If any of our Cheapsters’ kids are participating in Lemonade Day on Saturday May 18, best of luck to you and we hope you make plenty of sales. Either way, however, we wanted to let you know about how the community is joining with the kids in Carmel. Carmel City Center is one of the many locations where the young business owners will have their stands set up. In recognition of their efforts, Carmel City Center retailers are featuring sidewalk sales and lemon-themed promotions.
Kids are expected to be operating from their stands from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. During that time, feel free to stop by Carmel City Center. You can check out the lemonade stands while also doing some convenient nearby shopping complete with special deals. Here are some of the businesses offering sidewalk sales:
