It’s easy to talk about how great it is to support charities, but it’s a whole different proposition to actually take action. One group that is taking that kind of action here in our state is NCF Indiana. NCF is short for National Christian Foundation, and they are inviting Cheapsters like you to join the NCF Service Challenge for a shot at winning a huge sum of money for your favorite charity.
Click here to see a cute video advertising the Service Challenge (sports fans, it’s well worth the peek). The idea is for you to gather some of your co-workers and set aside a few hours for the group to help your favorite charity win $100,000. Registration for this event began in September, but you still have time before the Saturday. November 30 deadline to register.
In order to join the NCF Indiana Service Challenge, you need to choose a legitimate 501(c)3 charity in good standing with both state and federal governments. Once you’ve signed up (click here to do so), participate in your charity with a project you create. Past projects have ranged from serving meals in a shelter to providing children with school supplies. Once you’ve completed your event, submit your video or picture presentation of what you did and how others were touched by your efforts.
If you sign up, you’re in contention for the $100,000 NCF Indiana Service Challenge prize. In addition, you’ll automatically be entered in NCF’s nationwide partner contest. This one is called the CWAM Super Service Challenge, and it features a $1 million giveaway for the winner. You could win big in these contests, but you will absolutely have a positive impact on the people your charity helps.
