Sunday reminder: You have until 4 pm TODAY to get in on the action. Check our chart, pick your spot, and we’ll update often. Good luck — we hope it’s you we contact Monday morning with your prize!
We don’t have to hype the big Sunday Night Football game this week anymore, as it is the biggest sports topic of the week. Peyton Manning is coming home to Lucas Oil Stadium with his Denver Broncos team. It will be a bittersweet matchup for Colts fans, and should be a game to remember. We would love to tell you that we could find a way to give you cheap tickets to see the game, but we can at least provide you with the next best thing —a grid game with prizes for the winners.
We are happy to partner with Latitude 39 for this grid game, in which participants try to predict what the last digit of both teams’ scores will be at the end of the game. Latitude 39 has been happy to chip in some awesome prizes, which are even more awesome when you consider that you can participate for FREE.
Here’s how our game works: check out the picture that accompanies this post. If you would like to play, leave a comment below this article with your alias and the spot on the grid you want . For example, you could say your name was Huggy Bear and you want spot [1,4] on the grid. If you predict the correct spot on the grid, we will reach out to that alias with the email address you used. Make sure you use a valid email address, so that we can reach you and deliver your prize.
Each grid spot corresponds to the last digit in a team’s score at the end of the quarter between the two teams. For example, if the Broncos lead the Colts 10-7 after the first quarter, the winning grid spot would be [0,7]. If you call the right spot after the first, second, or third quarters, you will win a FREE $20 arcade card from Latitude 39. If you call the right spot for the final score, you’ll win six tickets to an upcoming comedy show. Tickets are valued at $15 each, so that’s a $90 value.
It’s FREE to sign up by leaving a comment, but each person is only allowed one grid spot. If more than one Cheapster wants the same grid spot, we will randomly draw a winner if that grid spot wins. If you want to play but don’t care what grid spot you’re on, say so in your comment and we will randomly assign a spot for you before the game. You have to sign up to play by 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 20 so we have time to set the grid in stone before kickoff. We will update this post as comments come in with names on the grid, so check back to make sure your alias is listed before the game.
And finally, be patient with us. Your remark won’t show up immediately — our spam blocker is a bit too good. We’ll clear through your remarks at least once an hour throughout the day.
Enjoy the grid, enjoy the game, and go Colts (thought we don’t wish Peyton ill, either).
