As Earth Day approaches, the JCC (Jewish Community Center) is calling all artists interested in showcasing their talent. If you or someone you know enjoys creating two- or three-dimensional works of art, this is a great opportunity for you to display your talent and to have a shot at winning a prize.
Indianapolis Power & Light is sponsoring the Earth Day Community Celebration, and the JCC is reflecting that in the Fence Art Festival on Saturday, April 21. The JCC is located at 6701 Hoover Road in Indianapolis, and that is where the Art Festival is taking place. The theme of the artwork submitted is to be nature and the environment. If you register for the festival, you will be taking part in a juried art competition. Artists are encouraged to think big, as they will each receive an eight-foot-wide section of the JCC fence to work with.
There are only a few other stipulations to be aware of. Earth Day may not be for a couple of weeks yet, but the Art Festival has only limited space available. Additionally, all the artwork has to be installed in one day. For more information (or to submit your own art examples), contact Mindi from the JCC at the following email address: mepstein@JCCindy.org. Earth Day can offer plenty of artistic inspiration, so we look forward to seeing some great work at the JCC this year.
