We’re usually big fans of alliteration when naming events. It’s clever, it makes the event name for memorable, and it’s fun. That said, this bit of alliteration isn’t as cute as most. Melanoma Monday is next week on the IUPUI campus, and you are invited for FREE skin cancer screenings. The American Academy of Dermatology has designated May as Melanoma/Skin Cancer Detection and Prevention Month. As such, the Indiana University Department of Dermatology has organized Melanoma Monday as its response.
From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5, FREE screenings will be offered at the following three locations:
- IU Dermatology Clinic
- IUPUI Health Services in Coleman Hall
- Eskenazi Dermatology Clinic
While the screenings are FREE, you need an appointment to attend. We’re letting our Cheapsters know about the screenings as soon as possible so that you have time to sign up before all the slots are full. You can call (317) 916-3525 to schedule your Melanoma Monday screening. One of the keys to triumphing over Melanoma is early detection, so we encourage you to consider making an appointment even if you don’t think you have skin cancer.
