Given the fact that both of us at Indy on the Cheap are Indiana University graduates with a love of sports, we find plenty of opportunities to post about opportunities like these. As we’ve mentioned before, however, we’re happy to post deals and opportunities for any Indiana school. If you are a fan of Purdue, Notre Dame, Butler, Ball State, Indiana State, or other area colleges and want other Cheapsters to know about fun alumni opportunities like the one we’re about to describe, shoot us an email at info@indianapolisonthecheap.com with the details and we’ll spread the love around.
This particular post is for the IU fans in the audience. On the Road with the Hoosiers is coming to Lucas Oil Stadium Wednesday, August 20. It’s a great chance to join Hoosier alumni, fans, and friends to hear firsthand about the success of IU student-athletes from coaches and players. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., you can obtain autographs from the following IU sports legends (you’re limited to one autograph item for fan):
- Victor Oladipo (basketball)
- Cody Zeller (basketball)
- Bobby “Slick” Leonard (basketball)
- George Taliaferro (football)
- Anthony Thompson (football)
- Whitey Kapsalis (soccer)
This is also a golden opportunity to take photos with the Old Oaken Bucket while jamming to a DJ playing music from IU head coach Spotify playlists. From 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., head coaches Tom Crean, Kevin Wilson, and Todd Yeagley will be speaking during the main program. Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Fred Glass will also speak briefly. Finally, you can obtain autographs from the head coaches from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
If you are a member of the IU Alumni Association or a Varsity Club member, a single ticket costs you only $15. For nonmembers, it’s $20, though kids aged 6-12 are only $5. If you want to attend this Hoosier program, you can register online.
