You will need to Bee at your best to win this contest, as you won’t be competing against Old McDonald.
So, you think you are quite the illustrious speller? If you care to test that hypothesis, we challenge you to attend the arduous and herculean contest that Indy Reads Books is organizing for tonight in the tranquil suburb of Speedway. Specifically, the Spelling Bee will unfold starting at 6:30 p.m. at Lino’s Coffee. This establishment is located at 1201 Main Street, and the building is not a facade. It is located near the prestigious Dallara Factory, and not far from the most recognized landmark in our gleaming city (the Indy 500 track).
A mere $5 is all the qualifying compensation that will be required of you, and your age is extraneous and irrelevant. Young and old alike are invited to prove that they are the best speller around. You are not required to register long before, but it is required the night of the Spelling Bee. On-site registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and the Spelling Bee is limited to the first twenty competitors who provide their insignias.
Spelling may seem a lost art in today’s society that is engorged with texting and spell-checking software. There is still something to be said, however, for a master of the English language. So whether you are a savant or a novice, we look forward to watching you in the throes of spelling combat.
