Starting tonight, our city will be moving and grooving a bit more than usual as Indy Jazz Fest takes place over the course of this week around town. You can follow the link to see a full rundown of performers and their venues, but we want to draw your attention to ways you can save on ticket prices to these grand occasions. On Saturday September 15 and Sunday September 16, the performances take place outdoors at Opti Park (820 East 67th Street in Indianapolis). Saturday’s show starts at 5:00 p.m. and features performances from Stanley Clark and George Duke, Karl Denson & Tiny Universe, and Robert Glasper Experiment. Sunday’s show starts at 3:30 p.m. and features performances from Brian Culbertson, Gerald Albright, and Brian Simpson. Both nights list ticket prices of $30 at the gate, but you can purchase discount tickets at Marsh Supermarkets for just $25. Follow the link to locate the Marsh closest to you, and you can save on your tickets to see exquisite jazz.
Also, because we are big fans of FREE here, the performance at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday September 13 at the Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center (1400 East Hanna Avenue in Indianapolis) is FREE to the public. The featured performance is Indy Jazz Band, and it is a tribute to Slide Hampton.
