It’s hard to miss two big trends in the Midwest: small business coffee roasters and the microbrewery. Indianapolis is rolling out the red carpet for its newest taproom resident this Saturday, and you’re invited to the celebration.
Indiana City Brewing Company officially opens its doors at 24 Shelby Street near the Fountain Square area this Saturday, May 25, from 2 pm to 8 pm. They’ll begin pouring pints at the grand opening, accompanied by plenty of art, music, and food trucks. The beer on tap:
Yacht Rock wheat ale
6.0% ABV | 19 IBU | 4.3 SRM
This Belgian style wheat ale is a light-bodied, crisp, slightly tart and lightly hopped golden beer with a fine-bubbled bright white head.
Shadow Boxer oatmeal stout
7.0% ABV | 44 IBU | 55 SRM
This is a black, full-bodied ale with mild roasted grain aroma, coffee flavor and moderate spicy hop bitterness. A diverse combination of flavors all below a creamy brown head.
Beyond the Pale pale ale
7.2% ABV | 59 IBU | 5.4 SRM
This beer has high hop flavor and aroma. Specialty spices add natural citrusy-pine aroma to this well balanced ale.
As for you caffeine junkies, don’t despair. Kaffeine Coffee Company will be on hand, too, with their premium roasts.
Head on over and give the new neighbors some love. Your taste buds will thank you.
