A year after our beloved Indianapolis Colts finished 2-14, Andrew Luck and the other rookies have brought our team back to the playoffs. They are headed to Baltimore this weekend to face the Ravens in the wild card round, but we have a few days left to cheer them on around town. Before you watch the Indianapolis Colts triumph this Sunday at 1:00 p.m., check out some of the festivities around town in preparation.
First off, the Indianapolis Colts are hosting a Light the Town Blue contest for both individuals and local businesses. It’s simple to participate: just decorate your windows and other parts of your home, install blue lighting, create a sign, or deck out your car in Colts messages. Then, upload your photos to your instagram account using the hashtag #LightTheTownBlue. From there, the Indianapolis Colts staff will judge the contest. Each day, a winning business will be selected for a 3’X5′ Colts flag autographed by Coach Chuck Pagano. Individuals have a shot at winning an autographed football from Andrew Luck. This contest has already begun and will continue throughout the playoffs.
Next, you’ll want to check out the Pyramids on the north side between now and Saturday, January 5 to see the Indianapolis Colts light display. The light display will be available for anyone in the public to photograph during these times between now and Saturday:
- 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m.
- 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Then, you can find playoff posters on Friday January 4. Four Meijer locations in Indianapolis will host morning drive-thru poster pass-outs from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. You can pick up these special edition posters for FREE at Meijer West (10841 East US 36), Meijer North (1424 West Carmel Drive), Meijer East (11351 E. Washington Street), or Meijer South (5325 E. Southport Road).
Next, there’s the Blue Friday Pep Rally, also on January 4. The Indianapolis Colts will host this rally at the Circle Centre Mall food court from noon to 1:00 p.m.. You can pick up one of the playoff posters, listen to live music, and meet former Colt Gary Brackett as well as the Colts Cheerleaders and Blue the mascot.
Finally, you can wrap up Friday January 4 with the radio show at Colts Grille from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Again, the Colts Cheerleaders will be available for autographs and pictures as the other festivities are going on. Enjoy all the fun activities going on this week, and ‘go horse’ this Sunday cheering on our Indianapolis Colts as they begin their path to the Super Bowl.
