File this one under breaking news, as it won’t last long.
This morning (Wednesday, May 22), Indianapolis City Market is holding a rally for the Indiana Pacers. The rally will last from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and is FREE to visit. Come by and you can visit with the Indiana Pacemates, as well as former Indiana Pacers players Don Buse and Rick Smits.
The sports media didn’t give us much of a chance of making it this far. The Indiana Pacers were underdogs to the New York Knicks, but were relentless in taking it to the Knicks. The Indiana Pacers captured the series by an impressive 4-2 margin. If you weren’t paying attention before to our basketball stars, now is the time to tune in. For the first time since 2004, the Indiana Pacers have returned to the Eastern Conference Finals. The opponent will be exceedingly difficult, as the Miami Heat are largely expected to win it all in the NBA this year. Lebron James and company are flying high, and it’s up to our Indiana Pacers to prove someone else deserves the throne.
The best way for us fans to help them accomplish that mission is to rally behind them. That starts today with the rally at City Market. The Indiana Pacers may be down in Miami tomorrow for Game One, but knowing they have support cheering them on could spur them to steal one from the Heat in South Beach. So, get pumped and show your pride for our Indiana Pacers as they continue as underdogs in the NBA Playoffs.
