If you’re looking to see history come to life in an interesting way, the Indiana Historical Society is always worth a visit. Since 1830, the Historical Society has been connecting people to the past by collecting, preserving, and sharing our state’s history. What sets it apart from other museums is the unique set of visitor experiences it refers to as the Indiana Experience.
Thursdays for the rest of this month, the Indiana Experience can be yours for FREE. From 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays in July, the Indiana Historical Society offers FREE admission. You can look around the place to your heart’s content, and both of the two remaining dates have their own special offerings to go with the FREE admission. On Thursday, July 17, you can picture your way through history by viewing architecture of the History Center through two interactive sessions (at 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.).
July 24 offers swing and foxtrot dance lessons at 5:15 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. (each lesson lasts for thirty minutes). Finally, July 31 offers a networking event at the History Center at 5:15 p.m., with opportunities to participate in improvisational activities and get to know new people. There’s always something new and interesting to discover at the Indiana Historical Society, and being able to do so for FREE just makes it that much better.
