A great reason to go through your closet
H&M, being a fashion store, knows a thing or two about textiles. For example, tons of these textiles end up in landfills every year. According to the H&M website, up to 95% of these textiles and clothes could be recycled and reused. That’s why H&M is offering up an incentive for you to recycle those old clothes you never wear anymore. They’re calling this incentive program the Long Live Fashion Initiative.
So, go look in the dark corners of your closet and find those old garments you never wear anymore. Whether they have the neon stripes from the 1980s that are only cool on retro days or if they have holes torn in them from a vigorous puppy, you can gather them all up together in a bag. Then, bring them in to your nearest H&M store (we have two in Indianapolis – one in Circle Centre and one at Castleton Square). For each bag of clothes you donate to H&M, you’ll receive a voucher good for a 15% discount on your next purchase.
You can bring in up to two bags per business day, and those clothes will be shipped to processing plants to be reused and recycled. Think about it this way – you aren’t wearing those old clothes anymore. This way, you can buy new replacements on the cheap while helping the planet. That means both you and H&M win.
