Bookstores and educators go hand in hand. While parents often start the ball rolling for kids when it comes to reading, educators continue to nurture that drive to read and comprehend. It’s because of the role these educators play in the literacy of our children that Half Price Books is taking a weekend to thank them.
Of course, Half Price Books is already a bookstore on the cheap by nature (hence the ‘half price’ portion of their name). Starting today on Thursday, October 10 and lasting through Monday, October 14, however, educators can take 20% off of these already low prices. The educators in this case include teachers and librarians. If you are a teacher or a librarian, enjoy the savings. If you are not a teacher or librarian, we know you are acquainted with someone who is. We encourage you to spread the news to those who can benefit from this discount, as we all want to say thank you to the educators who are encouraging the next generation to read.
As for how to claim the discount, the Educator Discount Card will be offered to teachers and librarians who present current identification via a pay stub or ID card that verifies that they are a teacher or school/city librarian. Half Price Books will also honor the discount for educators who have been laid off or taken early retirement in the past year.
