The last Friday evening of each month, the Madame Walker Theatre Center hosts a cabaret called Jazz on the Avenue. Top performers in the musical genres of jazz, funk, blues, and more come together at the theater to entertain the crowds at the Theatre’s longest-running featured attraction. Jazz on the Avenue has made the Top 100 lists of venues by groups like Downbeat Magazine as well as National Public Radio.
You can purchase tickets to see Jazz on the Avenue any month you’d like, and you’ll enjoy yourself if you love good jazz music. The coming months will feature artists like Johnny Dial Trio, Kenny Dodson, Nu Image, and more. And between now and the end of the April show, you can receive a nice discount if you are a AAA member. Your AAA membership allows you access to a deal to purchase two tickets to Jazz on the Avenue for half off. Instead of paying $20 for two tickets, you’ll only have to pay $10.
The coupon expires May 5, meaning you’ll need to use your tickets for the February 22, March 29, or April 26 version of Jazz on the Avenue. You’ll need to purchase the coupon itself in the next five days, as it expires at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, February 11. This is just another instance in which it pays dividends to be a AAA member, especially if you enjoy jazz. Click here to see a schedule of who will be performing at Jazz on the Avenue.
