Back in 1993, a local resident named Duane O Neil wanted to play his musical instrument again after a long break. He joined forces with a retired trumpet instructor and formed the Greater Greenwood Community Band. To this day, the Community Band continues to perform concerts around the south side of Indianapolis, while it has now grown to over 80 members. The band is funded by the city of Greenwood, allowing them to provide FREE concerts to the community.
You have the opportunity to see them tomorrow evening in concert at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday October 27. They will be performing their Fall Concert at the Greenwood High School Auditorium. As per usual, admission is FREE. The only cost to you is a couple hours of your time spent listening to beautiful band music. And if you like what you hear, you can return to the Greenwood High School Auditorium on Saturday December 8 for their Christmas Concert.
