Gather your team to take on the Maverick

At the gates of Burgerville, the Maverick waits as a mighty bouncer.

Taking on the Maverick Burger by yourself tends to be an exercise in futility when you’re at Teddy’s Burger Joint. This behemoth sandwich weighs in at eight pounds and will make you cry for your mother as you attempt to put it away. Of course, we’re not all about tears and crying here at Indianapolis on the Cheap, and so we want to let you in on a way to actually have a shot at beating the Maverick.

At 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, Rupert from Survivor will be on hand at Teddy’s Burger Joint in Southport to raise money for his group Rupert’s Kids. We’ve written about Rupert’s Kids before, but you can click here for more details. You are encouraged to gather a team of four foodies and prepare to take the Maverick Challenge. Whoever finishes the burger first wins, but there’s a twist. The overall goal is to raise money for Rupert’s Kids, so every $100 your team raises between now and then allows you to take a half-pound off the Maverick before you start.

The winner of the Maverick Challenge will earn a private dinner with Rupert and 10 of your friends at Teddy’s Burger Joint.
