According to BAM Chase, we’re staring down the best temperatures of 2014 today.
That makes it time to go for a walk. But don’t settle for ambling down your own street — instead, join Jane Jacob’s Walk along the Shelby Street Corridor after work. This walk will last from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Garfield Park Conservatory. There will be two route options: a shorter stroll through the neighborhood, and a longer hike to the University of Indianapolis.
So, who is Jane Jacobs? Honestly, we’re not entirely sure, other than she wrote a book titled The Death and Life of Great American Cities in 1961 and lots of cities, including New York, have planned similar events in her name. Your host, Aryn Schounce of Big Car is your host, so no doubt he’ll know, or you can email info@bigcar.org.
The event is open to seniors, children, bicyclists, bored people, short people, professionals, stay-at-home parents, people who haven’t traveled in months, families who like to play card games, craft beer lovers, movie buffs, folks who like to walk, and those who haven’t moved from their couches since January. There’s no need to register — just show up before 6 pm wearing your most comfortable shoes.
