The Greenwood Public Library is offering fun for all ages this Friday night, especially if you are a fan of science fiction. The Greenwood Parks Department is sponsoring this FREE event, which offers an evening full of science fiction fun. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12.
If you attend, you can expect to find costumed actors ready for games and trivia. There will also be crafts and a performance by the Greenwood community band. The highlight of the evening, however, will be a FREE showing of the comedic scifi spoof Galaxy Quest starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, and Alan Rickman. The alumni cast of a cult space TV show wind up having to play their roles for real when an alien race needs their help. The movie has been inspiring laughs since it premiered in 1999.
Don’t forget to wear your best scifi costume to the Greenwood Public Library for a chance at winning a cool prize.
The Greenwood Public Library is located at 310 S. Meridian Street.
