Where else are you going to see a Dachshund Derby?
It’s that time of the year when everyone is enjoying the slightly cooler temperatures of fall. You may recall that last week we ran a post about the Avon Heritage Festival going on last weekend. Well, the festivities move south this weekend as Franklin is holding its Fall Festival on Friday October 5 and Saturday October 6. The festivities take place at the Courthouse Square in the heart of the town, and will feature family-friendly fun for people of all ages. We encourage you to follow the above link for the full schedule rundown, but we want to point out a few highlights:
- Fish Fry (courtesy of Lion’s Club) on both days
- Franklin’s Got Talent: These talent shows will local residents of Franklin. Adults and youth will perform in separate divisions
- FREE outdoor concerts including The Hill Valley Ramblers, The Snakehandlers, and Lemon Wheel
- Community Baking Contest
- Cornhole Tournament
- Fall Festival Parade
- Dachshund Derby
Along the way, you’ll be able to take in plenty of music, markets, and FREE goodies. Whether you are a proud resident of Franklin or just love festivals this time of year, the key to a great time this weekend is to head south.
