This is a tough post to categorize, as it’s one of those rare freebies we hope our Cheapsters won’t pursue. We’ve categorized it as Free and Fun because it is FREE, but it is in no way fun. IndyVet Emergency & Specialty Hospital (you may remember them under their former name – the Indianapolis Veterinary Emergency Center) introduced a FREE monthly pet loss support group a couple of months ago.
The animal hospital hosts this support group at 5425 Victory Drive, near Beech Grove. The pet loss support group is FREE to attend, and it meets from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the first Thursday of every month. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so the support group will meet again the week after tomorrow on Thursday, December 5. Now you probably gather why we hope this isn’t a deal many of our Cheapsters have to pursue.
We at Indianapolis on the Cheap can speak from personal experience in understanding the grief that comes with the loss of a pet. Pets quickly become beloved members of the family, and their lives always seem too short. Experts agree that the best way to deal with grief is to talk about it, and that’s exactly what this support group enables you to do. If you are grieving the loss of your pet, we want you to know how sorry we are and hope that perhaps this support group can help with the healing process.
