FREE food opportunity on Friday night? Go tell it on the mountain (or on Facebook).
Thinking about dinner plans for Friday may seem premature, but we wanted to let you in early on a FREE event to put on your calendar. Southport Presbyterian Church (located at 7525 McFarland Boulevard in Indianapolis) is inviting you to their second annual FREE Community Fish Fry on Friday, July 12. You can stop by to enjoy some delicious FREE food and are welcome to stay for a FREE Christian concert immediately afterward.
As you can probably guess from the title of the event, you can expect to find fried fish on the menu. The meal is served from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday night, while the concert lasts from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and features several performing groups. Assuming the weather cooperates, both events will be held out on the church lawn. If rain interrupts the fun, the food and music will be moved indoors.
The new additionthis year is the car show. You can enter your classic (or not-so-classic, if you prefer) car, truck, or motorcycle for FREE into the show. This portion of the event starts at 5:00 p.m., and there will be trophies awarded for a multitude of categories.
You do NOT need to be a member of the church to attend, as anyone in the community is welcome to the FREE food. You are encouraged, however, to bring your own lawn chairs if you wish to have a seat. If you want more information about the fish fry, please call 534-2900.
