If you’re a fan of art galleries, chances are you have heard of IDADA. The Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association, for those are unfamiliar with it, functions as a non-profit membership of studio artists, art galleries, and businesses concerned with art within the 20 block square that makes up downtown Indianapolis. The oldest program of IDADA is First Friday, and it is coming up again later this week.
First Friday is a FREE and self-guided tour available the first Friday of each month. The second of the 12 First Friday events this year is happening this Friday, February 1. Generally, the venues for the tour are available from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Around 40 galleries are members of the IDADA, and many of them will be available for the FREE First Friday tour this week. There is no distinct start or finish to the tour, and you can spend as little or as much time in any particular gallery as you wish.
Now that you’re in the know on the event, take advantage of this opportunity to view some of the best art downtown Indianapolis has to offer. We’ll even provide you a link to the map of venues open for the tour this week. If you enjoy First Friday this week, mark your calendar for next month when March 1 rolls around.
