We have run posts in the past for the Royal Theater in Danville. The Royal Theater has been an iconic location for the western suburb since 1914. While most movie theaters have changed over the years into the Regals and AMCs we visit today, the Royal Theater has lasted throughout the ages and is now going strong even in the digital age.
Of course, it isn’t just the blast-from-the-past nostalgia that has sustained this family business. After all, the way to wind up on our site is to run deals, discounts, and freebies. This summer, the Royal Theater is doing just that by showing FREE films on most of the Wednesdays throughout the summer. The FREE films began last week on Wednesday, June 5. We’re happy to provide you with the schedule of movies going forward for the rest of the summer:
- June 12: Madagascar 3
- June 19: Paranorman
- July 3: Pirates: Band of Misfits
- July 10: Hotel Transylvania
- July 17: Rio
- July 24: Rise of the Guardians
- July 31: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days
As you can probably deduce from the list, these FREE movies are geared towards kids. If you have kids, this is a great way to entertain them while they are home for school this summer. If you don’t have kids, go ahead and see the movies anyway. Most of them offer fun for all ages, and at least you’ll be out of the summer heat for a couple of hours.
