If you have just had or are just about to have a baby, your life is in for some big changes. And if you are the parent of a child in school, you already know how fast those changes hit. Like college.
Yet, college expenses don’t seem to be headed downward any time soon. If you are helping pay for your child’s post-high school education, it pays dividends to do college planning early so you can avoid the heavy burden of school loans. But while many parents recognize the value of college planning, it can be tough to know where to start and how much to do.
Thankfully, we know of a way to help you without it costing you a dime. Financial Center Federal Credit Union is holding a FREE college planning seminar at its Main Center from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, February 9. The college planning topics will include an overview of college savings plan options. You will learn more about how much you should contribute based on age and college expectations, as well as how to properly complete the FAFSA documentation.
The college planning seminar is FREE to attend, but they ask that you register ahead of time to give the Financial Center a head count. To register, you can email marketing@fcfcu.com or you can call 317-916-6250.
