While our cars have gotten faster and more fun to drive over the years thanks to technology, we need to ensure that our protection within those cars is keeping up with the times. And while kids’ car seats have also improved, it is vital to check every now and then and make sure yours are being used properly and will hold up in that worst case scenario. Safe Kids USA is celebrating 15 years of the Buckle Up program that helps to keep our families safe on the roads by dedicating this week of September 16 to September 22 as Child Passenger Safety Week. One of the perks of this week is a FREE car seat check at certain locations around the country. Indiana is sadly not as saturated with these locations as other states, but you can receive your FREE check between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday September 22 at Central Christian Church in Terre Haute (4950 Wabash Avenue). We realize that Terre Haute is a bit of a haul from Indianapolis, but if you live west of town or have any other reason for driving that way that day, stopping by could offer you more peace of mind when driving with kids in the car. Whether you take advantage of this deal or not, however, always remember to buckle up when you’re behind the wheel.
