We more than understand if you have never heard of the sport of Flyball or the organization called the North American Flyball Association. But if you would like to take in a new sport and broaden your experience horizon, you can take in the action this weekend from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Friday October 12 to Sunday October 14 at the West Pavilion of the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The CanAm Classic represents the world’s largest Flyball Tournament.
According to the North American Flyball Association website, Flyball races match two teams of four dogs each running a 51 foot long course in a relay down the jumps. The dogs then trigger a flyball box and release the ball. They retrieve the ball and return over the jumps. The first team to have all four dogs finish the course without error wins the heat.
This weekend will feature heats in all of the following classes: Classic Regular, Classic Multibreed, Classic Open, Classic Veterans, CanAm, and CanAm Multibreed. If you’re like us, you probably don’t understand the difference. But considering admission is FREE all weekend, why not give it a try? If nothing else, you’ll be able to watch dogs running incredibly quickly all weekend.
