With the weather getting nicer (other than all the rain we’ve had lately), it’s understandable if you’re looking for something fun to do outdoors in the evenings. Sure, watching TV at night was great during the winter when it was cold out and the sun set early, but spring calls for a change in the style of entertainment on the weekends. One such style of entertainment could be family campfires at Holliday Park.
A branch of Indy Parks & Recreation, Holliday Park is located at 6363 Spring Mill Road. Tonight is the first, though they will be held four times between now and the end of the summer. For all four evenings, family campfires last from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. They cost just $5 per person, though you are required to register ahead of time. The evenings begin around the campfires and then progress to the topic of the evening. In each case, Holliday Park will provide the hot dogs and s’mores to roast over the fire. Here are the particular topics of each individual Family Campfires night:
- April 26: Storytelling with Cynthia Goodyear
- May 17: Twilight Hike
- June 21: Reptiles and Amphibians
- July 19: Mammals
Since you have to pre-register, we recommend you check out the Holliday Park website (our link is at the end of the first paragraph) ASAP and sign up to attend tonight.
