This post goes out to all the photographers among our Cheapsters. We have two phrases that we think might start you drooling on your camera lens (so make sure you set your camera away from you before you continue reading) – (1) Early Morning Photography, and (2) Garfield Park Conservatory.
If you are at all familiar with the Garfield Park Conservatory, you’ll recognize it as a beautiful place to take photographs. It’s one of the most popular places in all of Indianapolis to take pictures, as a matter of fact. However, there are strict rules for doing so in that location. For example, you cannot take portraits without a prior appointment. While you can take personal pictures of the landscape and plants, they have to be on a handheld camera. For just $5, however, you can register for the rare opportunity of having access to the Conservatory before the doors open to the public.
From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, you can bring your camera and tripod in for early morning photography within the Conservatory. As long as you don’t mind waking up early, you’ll be assured of leaving afterward with some beautiful shots. Registration is required and space is limited, so you’ll want to sign up quickly. To do so, you can call 327-7580 or email gpcons@indy.gov.
