We all conceptually love a fundraiser for a great cause. It gives us a nice warm feeling to help those in need. This fundraiser, in contrast, is a cold one, but we don’t think we’ll have to twist your arm for this one. If you enjoy blizzards from Dairy Queen, this is going to be the world’s easiest sell.
Dairy Queen has an annual fundraiser called Miracle Treat Day. For 2013, that event takes place on Thursday, August 8. On that day, we encourage you to come to your nearest participating Dairy Queen. $1 or more from every Dairy Queen blizzard sold will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. If you want to help raise even more money for this group, you can RSVP on Facebook to Miracle Treat Day. The first 50,000 RSVPs will result in Dairy Queen donating an extra dollar each to CMN hospitals.
Because this is such an easy sell, Dairy Queen was able to raise nearly $5 million last year on Miracle Treat Day. There’s no reason they can’t improve on that figure this year, but it will certainly help if you throw yourself on the grenade and buy yourself a blizzard Thursday. We hope we don’t have to twist your arm too hard to convince you that this is a great idea.
