There’s no doubt that this has been a troubling year from a standpoint of violent crime in our city. Police departments all over central Indiana are calling on Cheapsters like you and us to be vigilant and look out for each other. For that reason, this isn’t the last police department post you’ll be seeing from us this week. Stay tuned later in the week for another event, but here we’ll let you know about the annual Night Out Against Crime in Brownsburg.
The Brownsburg Police Department is holding this event from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5 at the Town of Brownsburg Green. You can look forward to live music performed by Big Daddy Caddy.”You’ll see police department displays, a FREE and fun photo booth, food and drinks, race car displays, a bounce house for the kids, FREE document shredding, and even an appearance from the Pacers Fan Van.
The entire evening functions as a going-away party for crime and drugs, two types of deals we don’t promote here at Indy on the Cheap. While the evening will be lots of fun, it’s also an opportunity to get to know your local police department and to take part in a “lights on” campaign on front porches in which Cheapsters leave their lights on into the night as a symbol of standing against crime and violence. That’s a cause we can all get behind, so we look forward to seeing you there.
